Imagine you have consumed a healthy food since 10 years ago? For sure your body will function well. These types of food will help you health in order to maintain healthy body weight, controlling the level of sugar in the blood, cholesterol level and others. The big question mark here is, what are the examples of healthy foods? Now... let me reveal to you :)

According to surveys and sources across North America and Western Europe, Medical News Today information article provides details on the top ten foods considered to be the most healthy.

1. APPLE

Apples also act as a toothbrush, cleaning teeth and killing bacteria in the mouth

In primary schools, I have seen one mural painting on the wall stated that "An Apple A Day Keeps The Doctor Away".  Now I realized the significance of  the proverb. As we all know, apple is very rich in anti-oxidants.

Researchers at The Florida State University said that apples are a "miracle fruit". Why it is called as that? Because they're also low in calorie density, one of the trademarks of a healthy food. When a food is low in calorie density you can eat good size portions of the food for relatively few calories. In addition, apples are affordable and readily available.

An apple a day can reduce the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure and many types of cancer.

2. BERRIES

They are high in antioxidant levels that clobber other Superfruit rivals like blackberries, strawberries, and blueberries.

Unlike minerals and vitamins that are also found in plant foods, phytonutrients are not essential for keeping us alive. However, they may help prevent disease and keep the body working properly.

According to a study carried out at Harvard Medical School, elderly people who eat plenty of blueberries (and strawberries) are less likely to suffer from cognitive decline, compared to other people of their age who do not.

A new US study suggests women could cut their risk of heart attack

3. BANANA

This Superfruit is loaded with potassium, which can lower your blood pressure, and is one of the best sources of Resistant Starch, a healthy carb that fills you up and helps to boost your metabolism.

Bananas help overcome depression due to high levels of tryptophan

Besides, adding a banana to your diet also helps keep your eyes healthy. Bananas have a small amount of vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin that is vital for protecting your eyes and normal vision.

4. AVOCADOS

Many people avoid avocados because of its high fat content; they believe that avoiding all fats leads to better health and easier-to-control body weight - this is a myth. Approximately 75% of the calories in an avocado come from fat; mostly monosaturated fat.

Avocados contain lutein and zeaxanthin, two phytochemicals that are essential to eye health.

Hence, Although most of the calories in an avocado come from fat, don't shy away! Avocados are full of healthy, beneficial fats that help to keep you full and satiated. When you consume fat, your brain receives a signal to turn off your appetite. Eating fat slows the breakdown of carbohydrates into sugar, which helps to keep sugar levels in your blood stable.

5. GUAVA

Guava is another tropical fruit rich in high-profile nutrients. With its unique flavor, taste, and health-promoting qualities, the fruit easily fits into the category of new functional foods, often labelled as “super-fruits.”

Guava is low in calories and fats but carry several vital vitamins, minerals, and antioxidant poly-phenolic and flavonoid compounds that play a pivotal role in the prevention of cancers, aging, infections, etc

Guava-fruit is an excellent source of antioxidant vitamin-C

Scientific studies suggest that regular consumption of fruits rich in vitamin C helps human body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge cancer causing harmful free radicals from the body. Further, it is required for collagen synthesis within the body. Collagen is one of the chief structural protein in the human body required for maintaining integrity of blood vessels, skin, organs, and bones.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for more information!
